BRUCE COLFIN APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF NASSAU COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE ON SPORTS, ENTERTAINMENT and MEDIA LAW
(New York, NY) Bruce E. Colfin of Jacobson & Colfin, P.C., has been appointed to a term as CHAIRMAN of the SPORTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND MEDIA LAW COMMITTEE of the Nassau County Bar Association. Colfin has been a member of the Nassau County Bar Association for a number of years, and was Vice Chair of the Committee for the past two.
Actively involved in the entertainment business academically, technically, and professionally, for over thirty years, Mr. Colfin is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York, where both he, and law partner, Jeffrey Jacobson, have been teaching Music Business Contracts since 1999.

JEFFREY E. JACOBSON REAPPOINTED TO PLANNING BOARD OF HEWLETT HARBOR
(Long Island, NY) Jeffrey E. Jacobson, of Jacobson & Colfin, P.C., was reappointed to the Planning Board of the Incorporated Village of Hewlett Harbor in, Long Island for a full term which runs to April, 2008.
A resident of Hewlett Harbor, Mr. Jacobson has been involved in the planning for the future of the community. He and his partner, Bruce Colfin, also a South Shore resident, are active locally. PROFESSORS BRUCE COLFIN & JEFFREY JACOBSON JOIN THE FACULTY OF FIVE TOWNS MUSIC COLLEGE
(New York, NY) Bruce E. Colfin and Jeffrey E. Jacobson of Jacobson & Colfin, P.C., have been named Associate Professors at Five Towns College, an accredited four year college with undergraduate and graduate degree programs in music and music business located in Dix Hills, New York.
Professors Colfin and Jacobson are teaching Music Business Contracts as well as Copyright and Music Publishing, both required courses for Bachelor of Arts in Music Business.
Five Towns College, located in a former high school in Dix Hills, New York features state-of-the-art music and video production facilities. Many of its alumni have moved on to careers in the entertainment business.
Both Jeffrey Jacobson and Bruce Colfin have lectured extensively on the entertainment business and intellectual property. Bruce has also been a visiting professor of the Music Business Program at State College at Oneonta. Jeffrey is a lecturer on Trademark Law for Lawyers with the Continuing Legal Educational program at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. They both are contributing writers as well as columnists for industry trade publications such as Replication News, Tape/Disc Business, and the Quarterly Journal of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
JACOBSON SUBCOMMITTEE CHAIR IN INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT COMMITTEE
(New York, NY) Jeffrey E. Jacobson, a member of the New York entertainment law firm of Jacobson & Colfin, P.C., has been appointed Chairman of the Subcommittee on Implementation of the European Union Copyright Directive in the International Copyright Committee of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association. He has assisted in drafting the report on the European Union Copyright Directive.
The committee concentrates on the foreign treaties and laws in copyrights. The proliferation of technology make international protection extremely important.

(New York, NY) Bruce E. Colfin of Jacobson & Colfin, P.C., appeared as a panelist at New York Law School for its Entertainment and Media Law Society seminar on Intellectual Property and emerging technologies.
Mr. Colfin appeared along with other prominent members of the entertainment and intellectual property industries. The panel was designed to provide attending law students with insight into the opportunities that may arise for future lawyers that choose those field for the practice of law or business.
